To identify and maximise the use of superior genes within the Meat Elite group and across the prime lamb insdustry
The Meat Elite breeding group was originally formed in 1988. It has a membership base of Poll Dorset breeders committed to excellence in breeding, and sharing superior genetics for the Australian Lamb Industry. It has members in all major lamb producing regions across Australia. The group provided 29.37% of the Poll Dorsets on the 2005 SGA Lambplan database, giving a powerful genetic pool from which to draw and share amongst members.
